Inter Milan full-back Ashley Young has said he would leave the Serie A club "right now" if he was offered a return to Watford.

The 35-year-old has been a regular under Antonio Conte since his move to Milan from from Manchester United, but says he would jump at the chance to move back to Vicarage Road if the opportunity arose.

Young came through the academy at Watford and broke into the first team in 2003. He played a significant role in the club's promotion to the Premier League in 2005-06 before sealing a move to Aston Villa, then later joining Manchester United.

At Old Trafford he won Premier League and Europa League medals, while lifting both domestic clubs, but it is Watford which still holds a special place in his heart.

“If I could go back and play [at Watford] again, I would walk from Italy right now because it's what I know, it's where I come from and it's what allowed me to be who I am and get where I am,” he told the club’s podcast Golden Tales.

“It gave me a humble beginning.”
