Arsene Wenger press conference in full: Arsenal manager on Olivier Giroud, Jamie Vardy, Leicester and more

James Benge25 April 2017

Arsene Wenger was in optimistic mood in his press conference ahead of tomorrow night’s visit of Leicester and well he should be.

Fresh from their most convincing performance in several months in Sunday’s 2-1 FA Cup semi-final victory over Manchester City Arsenal are preparing for what Aaron Ramsey termed “seven finals” in their pursuit of the Premier League top four.

The first of those will see Arsenal face the striker they were so keen to acquire in the summer, Leicester’s Jamie Vardy. Wenger insisted that the Gunners could not have done more to acquire the England international, who ultimately rejected the lure of London for a new contract at the King Power.

Vardy was not the only striker up for discussion, with speculation linking Olivier Giroud also addressed. And, inevitably, Wenger addressed further questions about his future with his customary straight bat.
