Arsene Wenger believes Arsenal are now in a position to continue luring the world's biggest talents away from Europe's best clubs after years of seeing his own stars depart.

Since the summer of 2011, the Gunners have lost Samir Nasri, Cesc Fabregas and Robin van Persie to domestic and European rivals but Wenger insists Arsenal are no longer a selling club.

"Before, when we were building the (new) stadium, the big clubs came to buy the players from us," the Frenchman said.

The 65-year-old wants to continue capitalising on the fierce competition for places at the most successful clubs after signing Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez from Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively in recent transfer windows.

He added: "Now we are in a position where we can keep our big players, but sometimes there are so many big players in the other big, big clubs who are good but do not play, so after a year or two you can get a good deal.
