Hector Bellerin has claimed Arsenal "shut some mouth" with their north London derby victory over Tottenham.
Arsene Wenger’s side secured their first Premier League win against Spurs in three years with their best performance of the season so far, Shkodran Mustafi and Alexis Sanchez both scoring at the Emirates Stadium.
The 2-0 victory was all the more satisfying for the hosts following a build-up dominated by talk of a power shift in north London.
But Bellerin believes Arsenal silenced the doubters after cutting the gap between the two sides to one point.
“There’s always a lot of talk but I think it was one of those games where we showed what we could do. We shut some mouth as well,” he told the club’s official website.

“There are people who talk a lot and now, after watching that game at home, they’ll be thinking that these guys have a chance.”
The Arsenal speedster also heaped praise on man of the match Mesut Ozil following an impressive display.
He continued: “Mesut is someone who gets a lot of criticism, but the players who are around him are very happy to have him and play with him. He makes things very easy for us.”
The German playmaker was back to his best and, alongside Alexis Sanchez and Alexandre Lacazette, outplayed Spurs.
Asked whether Arsenal can replicate their performance against Tottenham, Bellerin said: “That’s what we’re trying to do.
"Sometimes, for different reasons, we haven’t been able to do it, but this is how we set the bar and show what potential we have.
“That’s what we’ve got to work hard to do every single week, week in, week out.”
