Arsenal manager Unai Emery hopes to have good news regarding the arrival of Barcelona’s Denis Suarez on Wednesday as he looks to add width to his squad.

Emery, who has only had Alex Iwobi and Henrikh Mkhitaryan to call on out wide so far this season, is set to add his former Sevilla charge to the Gunners squad on loan this week with the 25-year-old due in London for his medical.

Suarez, who can be deployed in a central role or out wide, scored six goals and assisted a further five in 46 appearances under Emery in Spain.

"If some players can come here to help us they will come. The last news I do not know because all my focus is on this match. And I have not spoken with anybody.

"The club is working on it. Maybe tonight or maybe tomorrow I will speak and find the news," Emery said of Suarez's arrival.

"But my idea is the same. If we can sign one player to come and help us that is good for us.

"We need wingers. Wingers. And if one player like Denis Suarez … I know him because he played with me in Sevilla. His qualities is this."
