'You're not fit to wear the shirt' - Arsenal fans slam stars vs Manchester City in half-empty Emirates Stadium

Arsenal fans have endured a tough few weeks, but it took just over half an hour to plunge their mood to new lows at a sub-zero Emirates on Thursday night.

A bright start will have had the sparse crowd hopeful that there would be some sort of commendable reaction to the debacle at Wembley on Sunday.

However, a scintillating spell from Manchester City doused those hopes faster than you could say ‘Wenger Out’.

Two stunning goals from two Silvas - Bernardo and David - were perhaps a little tough on the Gunners, but from there they got what they deserved.

Both Laurent Koscielny and Hector Bellerin were beaten far too easily by Sergio Aguero and Leroy Sane respectively for the third goal.

Sane’s tap in just after the half-hour mark was the final straw for some. Fans had battled the ‘Beast from the East’ to reach north London, but half an hour was all it took for a few to up and leave.

Those that remained began to turn on the players. Granit Xhaka bore the brunt when heading over for a corner, greeted by a smattering of boos and chants of ‘you’re not fit to wear the shirt’.
