Petr Cech starts in goal against his former side as Arsenal and Chelsea return to Wembley for the Community Shield, but there is no space for Diego Costa.

A first competitive game for the new Arsenal signing will see him line up against former colleagues including John Terry and Gary Cahill, both of whom start for Jose Mourinho’s side.

They will be joined by Loic Remy, who is preferred to Radamel Falcao as Mourinho chooses not to name injury-plagued Diego Costa in his squad.

The Chelsea boss confirmed ahead of kick-off that Costa is absent due to 'discomfort in his hamstring'. Victor Moses is on the bench, having been given the chance to impress at his parent club after a good season at Stoke last year.

Arsene Wenger has chosen to name Theo Walcott, the new recipient of a £140,000 contract, as his lead striker, with Mesut Ozil, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Santi Cazorla playing off the forward.

Arsenal: Cech, Bellerin, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal, Coquelin, Cazorla, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Ozil, Ramsey, Wolcott

Chelsea: Courtois; Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry (c), Azpilicueta; Matic, Fabregas; Ramires, Willian, Hazard; Remy.
