Arsenal have confirmed loan moves for Omar Rekik and Harry Clarke ahead of the new season.

Rekik, 20, is set for a spell in the Dutch top-flight after signing for Sparta Rotterdam for the 2022-23 campaign.

It is the Tunisian’s first loan stint away from north London having joined from Hertha Berlin 18 months ago. Last term, he played 19 times for the Arsenal Under-23s but is yet to appear for Mikel Arteta’s senior side.

Another confirmed as departing on Monday was Clarke, who will spend the new season on loan at Championship side Stoke.

The move represents a step back into English football for the 21-year-old after he spent last season with Ross County and Hibernian in the Scottish Premiership.

Clarke, who can play as a central defender or wing-back, previously spent a campaign with Oldham in League Two.

The duo are Arsenal’s first loan exits of the summer and follow the only sale so far, of Konstantinos Mavropanos to Stuttgart.
