Mathieu Flamini has been offered to Panathinaikos as he plans for life after Arsenal.

Standard Sport revealed in November that Flamini, Mikel Arteta and Tomas Rosicky were all likely to leave the Gunners at the end of the season once their current contracts expire.

And Flamini is now actively searching for another club with Greece a possible destination after intermediaries acting on the player’s behalf initiated contact with Panathinaikos.

However, it is believed the 32-year-old midfielder has indicated he is looking to continue on the same £60,000-a-week salary he currently earns at Emirates Stadium.

That figure is thought to be beyond Panathinaikos and the club have made clear Flamini will have to lower his demands before any progress over a deal could be made.

Flamini has not made a first team appearance since March’s Champions League last 16 exit to Barcelona.
