New signings: Wenger is still in the market for players

Arsene Wenger still hopes to bring more players to Emirates Stadium this summer.

The Frencman, who admitted Thomas Vermaelen could leave, has already signed Alexis Sanchez, Mathieu Debuchy, David Ospina and Calum Chambers this summer, but expects to continue recruiting into the final month of the window.

Wenger believes the transfer window will be busy during the middle of August and suggested he will be part of the dash to make further signings.

"I am very happy because I did what I wanted and I am still hoping to do more," he said.

"It is 1 August and the transfer window closes on the 31st. It is a long time. We are a bit ahead of what we usually do because the availability on the market was bigger than before."

However, the Arsenal boss did rule out a move for Colombian midfielder Juan Quintero, claiming reports to the contrary were 'wrong'.

The Gunners, who will feature in the Emirates Cup this weekend, open their Premier League campaign against Crystal Palace on August 16.
