Arsenal transfer news and rumours: Gabriel Jesus battle latest, £21m Raul de Tomas bargain on the cards

Marc Mayo20 June 2022

Arsenal are pushing hard to land their second, third and maybe even fourth signings of the transfer window.

As fans await an announcemount on Fabio Vieira’s arrival, the Gunners are hard at work bolstering their attack amid a fight with Tottenham over Gabriel Jesus.

An alternative, and much cheaper, striker target has also emerged in the form of Espanyol and Spain forward Raul de Tomas.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic of Lazio has also been discussed as a player Arsenal are admiring this summer.

Here is your latest update of Arsenal transfer news and rumours...

Gabriel Jesus

Tottenham are fighting hard to bring Gabriel Jesus to the white side of north London after intense negotiations between the Manchester City striker and Arsenal.

The Gunners have made the Brazilian their £50million priority target for the summer but the Mirror report on Antonio Conte being a big fan of Jesus.

Conte is said to want Jesus as he can operate in any position across his three-man attack.

Spanish outlet Super Deporte name Spanish international De Tomas as a growing option for Arsenal.

A price tag of £21m would be a significant reduction on his £60m release clause as Espanyol would be open to cashing in on the striker.

However, they are reportedly confident of De Tomas not agitating for a move given his relationship with coach Diego Martinez.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic

Lazio midfielder Milinkovic-Savic is said by Il Messaggero to be awaiting a call on his future while on holiday with his partner.

Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain would be the Serbian’s ideal destinations yet neither are keen on a summer deal, leading to interest from Newcastle, Manchester United and Arsenal.

The Gunners are set to miss out on his signature however as he targets a return to the Champions League, with £60m the value Lazio have placed on Milinkovic-Savic.
