Everton and Newcastle have joined Arsenal in tracking Lyon midfielder Bruno Guimaraes.

The Brazilian has impressed in France and he is now attracting interest from clubs around Europe.

Arsenal have been following the midfielder for a few years now and scouted him when he was playing at his previous club, Brazil’s Athletico Paranaense.

The Gunners remain admirers of Bruno and they are in the market to bolster their midfield during the coming year.

No club has made a firm offer for Bruno yet but, if Arsenal do, they are likely to face competition from Everton and Newcastle.

The pair have both watched the Brazilian, who helped his country win Olympic gold in the summer, and he is on their respective transfer radars.

Lyon are very reluctant to let Bruno leave during the current window, though, and it is more likely they would sanction a deal in the summer.

The French club are under some financial pressure, but it is believed they are able to hold firm this month if required.

Given the interest in Bruno, he is unlikely to be available for cheap and some sources in France believe he could go for a fee in the region of £40million.

Lyon paid €20m (£17m) to sign the midfielder in January 2020 and they would hope to double their money from that purchase.

Athletico Paranaense are due a percentage of any future fee, with the amount believed to be in the region of 20 per cent of any sale.
