Arsenal are monitoring Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri but Arsene Wenger is yet to formalise the club's interest.

The 26-year-old made 34 Ligue 1 appearances for Nice last season, scoring seven goals and has set his sights on Champions League football after Nice's play-off defeat to Napoli.

Seri looked set for a move to Barcelona earlier in the window, but the player has since confirmed that move has collapsed.

Speaking earlier this week, the midfielder said: “Is the Barca move dead? I want to be optimistic and think that there are still options.

“Let the two clubs talk quietly again and come to an agreement.

“We are not talking about any club, where you are going to sign for money.

“I want to sign for big European clubs, like Juventus, PSG, Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund, Liverpool.”
