It would take a brave football fan to bet against Mesut Ozil creating the most assists in the new Premier League season after the Arsenal playmaker's stunning 2015/16 campaign.
Ozil set up an incredible 19 league goals as the Gunners finished second in the table, with only the profligacy of his team-mates costing the Germany international in the pursuit of Thierry Henry's record of 20.
The 27-year-old is not yet match fit after reaching the semi-finals of Euro 2016, but Ozil is eager to be back on the pitch after cutting his holidays short to support the Gunners during their US pre-season tour.
Ozil has been backed by 888Sport as the 2/1 favourite to record the most assists next season given he created 144 chances last season, although Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne will likely run him close after being priced at 4/1.
Tottenham's Christian Eriksen has looked sharp in pre-season, and the Denmark forward is the next-best challenger at 7/1 after setting up 13 goals from 114 chances created.
Ozil's Arsenal team-mate Alexis Sanchez and West Ham star Dimitri Payet are close behind, with Spurs youngster Dele Alli hoping to become the chief playmaker at White Hart Lane.
Chelsea's Eden Hazard has been backed to compete for the PFA Player of the Year award once more despite a difficult season, and may well be one of Antonio Conte's main men in a new-look 4-2-4 formation.
