Arsenal have announced the second game of their 2023 pre-season tour of the United States.

Manchester United will be their opponents on Saturday, July 22 at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Further matches are to be announced in due course after a match with the MLS All-Stars was scheduled for three days earlier at Washington DC’s Audi Field.

The Gunners spent time in the USA as recently as last summer, playing Everton, Orlando City and Chelsea as part of their Florida Cup tour. However, they have never faced United across the pond.

Sporting director Edu said: “The plans for pre-season are making good progress, with the match against Manchester United in New York being another important part of our preparations.

“Playing against strong opposition in a great stadium in front of so many of our supporters in New York will provide Mikel [Arteta] and the squad with a strong test and great experience ahead of the new season.”
