Manchester City were crowned Premier League champions after Arsenal were beaten 1-0 at Nottingham Forest.

The Gunners had plenty of possession during the game, but they created nothing with it and Forest scored with their first of just two shots on target.

Taiwo Awoniyi was put through by Morgan Gibbs-White in the 19th minute and his shot found the bottom corner after Gabriel’s tackle deflected the ball onto his foot.

The defeat means the title race is officially over, while Forest have also guaranteed they will be playing in the Premier League next season.

Aaron Ramsdale 6

Didn’t really have much to do other than pick the ball out of his net when Forest scored. Other than that Forest didn’t have a shot on target.

Thomas Partey 5

Thrown in at right-back as Arteta experimented. Tucked in a lot to get on the ball, but that played into Forest’s hands as they were able to be compact.

Ben White 6

Back in the heart of the defence after playing this season at right-back. Did fine and was only caught out by one poor pass to him by Partey.

Gabriel 6

Had a right old battle with Awoniyi throughout the whole game. The Forest striker scored the only goal when Gabriel’s tackle took the ball onto his foot.

Jakub Kiwior 5

Filled in at left-back and was solid enough defensively. Decent in the air, especially when Awoniyi peeled onto him. Couldn’t offer a threat going forward, though.

Gave the ball away for the Forest goal with a loose pass in midfield. Linked up with Saka a lot down the right, but they had no joy.

Jorginho 6

Probably one of the few players to come out of this with much credit. Demanded the ball and tried to make things happen. Showed more fight than most.

Granit Xhaka 5

Barely in the game at all, not least because Arsenal spent the whole first-half building their attacks down the right. Taken off just after the hour mark.

Bukayo Saka 5

Got plenty of the ball but struggled to make an impact, with often two Forest players doubling up on him. Had one good shot saved around the hour mark.

Gabriel Jesus 4

Had a few flashes at goal in the first-half and a penalty shout waved away in the second. Slipped when trying to shoot late on, summed up his day.

Just not involved in the game at all. A victim of Arsenal continually playing down the right so much, but he was really anonymous. Form has dipped after a bright start to life at Emirates Stadium.

Substitutions

Kieran Tierney (Kiwior 62’) 6

Came on and gave Arsenal some width, putting in a number of crosses. Should’ve been on earlier.

Eddie Nketiah (Xhaka 62’) 5

Thrown on by Arteta but didn’t carry much threat.

Fabio Vieira (Trossard 70’) N/A

Subs not used: Turner, Holding, Walters, Bandeira, Smith Rowe, Cozier-Dubbery
