Arsenal permutations: What Gunners need to qualify for Uefa Europa League knockout stages

Arsenal look set to progress to the last 32 of the Europa League as they head to Liege for their final group-stage fixture.

The Gunners sit top of Group F ahead of Eintracht Frankfurt and know they will advance if they avoid defeat to Standard Liege on Thursday.

Only an Arsenal defeat by five of more goals, coupled with victory for Frankfurt, would send the Gunners crashing out.

There is a scenario where Arsenal, Frankfurt and Standard Liege would all finish on 10 points, with each side earning six points from their three-way head-to-head. Goal difference would then come into the equation, leaving the Gunners in a strong position after big wins against both in earlier group games.

Should Arsenal win their group, they will be thrown into the path of Champions League dropouts Bayer Leverkusen, Shakhtar Donestsk, Olympiacos, Club Brugge.

A runners-up spot would put them on a potential collision course with Ajax or Inter Milan.
