Goodbye, Atom and Humber: Alexis Sanchez banner removed from Arsenal's Emirates stadium

James Benge25 January 2018

It’s the end of an era at the Emirates Stadium… and that means the club has had to say goodbye to some beloved four-legged friends.

No more was there a poster of Sanchez outside the Armoury club store - nor indeed was Theo Walcott after his switch to Everton.

But most significantly of all, one of the Emirates’ most famed attractions has gone as the fan-made "Good Boys" banner has been removed from the North Bank.

The banner pictured Sanchez with his two dogs Atom and Humber and was first unveiled in January 2017.

Unfortunately that piece of artwork and a £300,000-a-week contract offer were not enough to convince Sanchez to stay.

Will United fans respond with an Atom and Humber banner of their own at Old Trafford?

We may find out on February 3, when Sanchez is set to make his home debut against Huddersfield.
