The clock is ticking for Premier League clubs as we have now entered the closing stages of the January transfer window.

Deadline day will soon be looming large and teams do not have long to add to their squads or get shot of some unwanted players.

Major deals have not been as frequent as many fans would have liked this month but we can still expect plenty of business to be completed between now and next Monday.

Arsene Wenger has suggested he expects to oversee a 'quiet' final few days in north London but new reports in the French media claim Le Professeur's business might not be over.

Transfer Window: London's big deals

The Gunners boss is said to be interested in Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe, who is yet to sign a professional deal with the Ligue 1 club.

The 17-year-old is believed to have caught Chelsea's eye too but it is the north Londoners who are leading the race to sign the forward.

Given the manner in which Anthony Martial has thrived at Manchester United this season - despite arriving with a relatively modest profile - the Emirates faithful will be hopeful they have unearthed another French gem.
