Arsenal’s fixture against West Bromwich Albion has been rearranged to a Thursday night in April.

Arsene Wenger’s side will now play three matches in a week in late April after their home game against the Baggies was scheduled for Thursday April 21, in between the visit of Crystal Palace on Sunday April 17 and a trip to Sunderland on April 24.

Emirates Stadium was scheduled to host West Brom on Saturday but that fixture was cancelled due to Arsenal’s victory over Hull in their FA Cup replay. Arsenal faced Watford instead, suffering a 2-1 defeat that served to heap further pressure on Wenger.

This is not the first occasion that Arsenal have faced a fixture pile up, with the club requiring special dispensation from Uefa to play their fifth round replay on Tuesday during a night of Champions League fixtures.

Another Arsenal home game’s scheduling remains in doubt, with the match against Norwich scheduled to take place on Saturday April 30 potentially in line to be rearranged for the next day.

The club warned they could not provide confirmation over this until mid-April as it will depend on the progress of both Manchester City and Tottenham in European competitions.

Supporters reacted angrily in January when their fixture with Leicester was rearranged at just three weeks notice after Sky decided to move it from Saturday to Sunday for live broadcast.
