Gabriel Jesus has not travelled to Norway for Arsenal’s Europa League group-stage clash with Bodo/Glimt this evening but it is a strong side named by Mikel Arteta.

The Brazilian was forced off late in Sunday crucial victory over Liverpool and is expected to be fit to face Leeds at the weekend, but has not been risked ahead of Thursday night’s meeting at the Aspmyra Stadium.

“We thought that with everything he has been through in the last few weeks we thought it was better that he was staying there,” Arteta explained.

The Gunners are Oleksandr Zinchenko, meaning Kieran Tierney stars at left-back, having been left out of the XI against Liverpool in favour of Takehiro Tomiyasu.

Bukayo Saka, Ben White and William Saliba all start, as does Martin Odegaard on his return to Norway.

Matt Turner is given another opportunity in goal as expected, while Rob Holding, Reiss Nelson and Eddie Nketiah also come into the side.

Arsenal XI: Turner; White, Holding, Saliba, Tierney; Lokonga, Vieira, Odegaard; Saka, Nketiah, Nelson.

Subs: Ramsdale, Cedric, Tomiyasu, Gabriel, Partey, Xhaka, Smith, Ibrahim, Marquinhos, Martinelli, Edwards, Hein.
