Arsenal suffered a 1-0 defeat in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie as Porto winger Galeno struck a late winner.

In a cagey affair, neither side had many chances during a very stop-start game.

Porto winger Galeno spurned two great opportunities in the first-half, when he hit the bar and fired wide from a few yards out.

The Brazilian was the hero late on, though, as he curled home an effort from outside the box in the 94th minute.

David Raya 6

Didn’t have masses to do, before he was beaten right at the death by a wonder strike from Galeno.

Ben White 6

Tucked into midfield again, but struggled to open Porto up. Was a nuisance at corners all game.

William Saliba 7

Had one of Arsenal’s best chances in the first-half, but headed wide from a corner. Made some big blocks after the break.

Gabriel 7

Like a few players, he looked a bit shaky early on when in possession. Got better as the game went on and coped well.

Jakub Kiwior 6

Made his third start in a row due to injuries to Oleksandr Zinchenko and Takehiro Tomiyasu. Good in possession. Booked for a rash foul on Francisco Conceicao.

Martin Odegaard 6

Dropped deeper in an attempt to get on the ball more. Tried to get Arsenal going, but struggled to break Porto down.

Declan Rice 7

Booked after just over a minute when he was sloppy in possession. Managed it well, though, and was solid.

Kai Havertz 6

Back where he scored the most famous goal of his career. No such joy tonight, however, as he had few chances.

It was a frustrating night for the Gunners

Not really in the game very much. Had the odd jinking run and cross, but lacked end product.

Leandro Trossard 5

Blazed a good chance over the bar midway through the second-half. Other than that, he fed off scraps.

Had one bright run where he got past Pepe with ease, but was quiet for much of the game.
