Oleksandr Zinchenko backs Eddie Nketiah to lead Arsenal’s Premier League title challenge

Oleksandr Zinchenko insists Eddie Nketiah can lead the line for Arsenal in the absence of Gabriel Jesus.

There are fears the Brazilian could miss up to three months of action after undergoing surgery on a knee injury picked up during the World Cup.

Jesus has been a key part of the club’s title push this season, scoring five goals in 14 appearances and setting the tone from the front since joining from Manchester City.

Mikel Arteta has confirmed the club would be active in the January and Arsenal are in talks with Shakhtar Donetsk over a deal for Ukraine winger Mykhaylo Mudryk.

Shakhtar, however, are reluctant to sell the 21-year-old at this stage as they bid to win the Ukrainian top-flight and secure qualification for the Champions League.

Nketiah, meanwhile, is yet to score a Premier League goal this season but did finish last season with five goals in seven games.

“I have no doubts that Nketiah is going to do his job amazingly and everyone trusts him,” said Zinchenko.

“We have such a great group of people. We have this feeling of togetherness.”
