Arsenal are to face Hibernian in a preseason friendly this summer as part of a mini-tour of Scotland.

The Gunners had already confirmed a preseason game at Ibrox against Rangers on July 17, a match which will commemorate the newly-crowned Scottish champions’ 150th anniversary.

They will face Hibs four days earlier on July 13 at Easter Road as part of a week-long training camp, for which Mikel Arteta’s side will be based in Edinburgh.

“The matches against Hibs and Rangers will be good tests for us and we’re looking forward to playing against two strong opponents,” Arteta said.

“Pre-season is an important time for the squad and we’re delighted to have this organised early so we can get the most out of the two matches and the training camp.”

Coronavirus travel restrictions mean Premier League clubs are planning for a preseason without globe-trotting tours, with the Gunners having visited the US, Australia and Asia over the past decade.

It was revealed last week that talks are ongoing between Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham over a preseason charity tournament in London.
