Arsenal face the threat of a Uefa investigation after Eintracht Frankfurt fans made it into the Emirates on Thursday night.

Supporters of the German club were banned from the match, following crowd disturbances during their Europa League clash against Vitoria Guimaraes last month.

Arsenal consequently put strict restrictions on the sale of tickets for the match, while extra security was put in place at the stadium.

A group of Frankfurt supporters, however, made it into the stadium, revealing their presence when the German side equalised and then scored a winning goal.

Uefa were this morning awaiting the match delegate’s report before deciding whether to open proceedings.

Arsenal warned before the match they would take “appropriate action” against anyone found passing, selling or offering their ticket for sale.

It is believed Frankfurt fans obtained tickets for the club level seating at Arsenal through international agents and not the Gunners’ box office.

Arsenal are confident all their preventative measures were executed correctly, with Frankfurt supporters kept out of the upper and lower tiers, but Uefa could still decide to open an investigation.
