Antonio Nusa has revealed he is over the injury concerns that scuppered a January move to Brentford.

The Bees had agreed a fee of £31.5m with Club Brugge for the winger in what looked like a coup for Thomas Frank’s side amid previous interest from Chelsea and Tottenham.

Still, concerns were raised after the Norway international underwent a medical with the club and Nusa was duly sent back to Belgium.

Brentford are set to reassess the situation this summer but the collapse of the January deal has left the door open to other parties, while Frank surely must also ensure his team stays in the Premier League to stand any chance of landing the teenager.

They have also signed Club Brugge teammate Igo Thiago, with the striker set to join the club for £30m this summer.

Tottenham had also been in talks over a deal to sign Nusa but the player was keen to join a club where regular first-team football would be guaranteed. Chelsea, meanwhile, saw a £23m offer rejected in September.

He is regarded as one of the best young talents outside of Europe’s top five leagues and is still expected to leave the Belgian club this summer.

Nusa admits he was worried about the issues the medical brought up but is confident they are now resolved.

“So they got a little worried”, he told VG.

“That’s okay. We were worried of course. Something wasn’t right. It was important to get to the bottom of it. We’ve done that now.

“It’s about health. As a footballer, you want to be 100%. I was afraid there was something wrong with my body. Those were difficult times, but it wasn’t really a problem. That’s what we found out.”
