Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is scouring the transfer market for the 'right player' for the club's future.

The Italian oversaw the Blues' 2-1 victory over Watford at Vicarage Road on Saturday and afterwards fielded questions from the media after failing to add to the squad since the arrival of N'Golo Kante before the club's pre-season tour of America last month.

Both Kante and fellow new signing Michy Batshuayi were in action as Chelsea maintained their winning start to the new Premier League campaign, but a second straight victory has not encouraged Conte to call of his search for reinforcements.

The 47-year-old's pursuit of Romelu Lukaku appears over after Ronald Koeman revealed the Belgium international will stay at Goodison Park for another season, but the club remain hopeful a deal can be reached for top target Kalidou Koulibaly.

Conte's search, though, will extend beyond one defensive addition after he voiced his view on Friday that Chelsea remain 'a few players down'.

After victory over Watford, he said: "The club and me are talking every day to improve this squad. It's very difficult in this market. It's very crazy.
