Antonio Conte fears Paul Pogba could come back to haunt him on Monday night, but has told his Chelsea players to be wary about the whole Manchester United team.

Chelsea take on United in the FA Cup quarter-final at Stamford Bridge, and Conte knows all too well the threat Pogba can pose.

The Chelsea coach was in charge of Juventus when the Serie A signed him from Manchester United in 2012 for just £800,000 in compensation.

He won six major trophies, including two Serie A titles under Conte, before rejoining Manchester United for a world-record £89m fee last summer.

Conte said: "We are talking about a top, top player. A top player in all situations. Also in his commitment in training, trying to improve him, good technique, physically strong, great stamina.

"We must pay great attention to him, above all when he arrives in the box."

Pogba has struggled to justify his large transfer fee so far, while Chelsea's N'Golo Kante has looked a real bargain following a £32m switch from Leicester.

But Conte doesn't think the two midfielders are in direct competition with each other and said: "They are two different players with different characteristics.

"I think it's very difficult to try and compare Paul with N'Golo, two players with different characteristics. Two great players, but different.”

Chelsea beat Jose Mourinho's side 4-0 the last time they met back in October, but Manchester United have suffered just two defeats in 31 games since then, none of which have come in the top flight.

Mourinho may make a few changes to his starting line-up due to the tie being played just three days before the second leg of their Europa League last 16 contest with FC Rostov.

But Conte has warned his players that Pogba won't be the only Manchester United player to worry about.

He added: "We are working to try to find the right solution for the whole team, not only for Paul Pogba. Not only for one player.

"It was the same against West Ham, when we played against Andy Carroll, and there were questions about whether we would try and stop him.

"For sure, we are studying Manchester United to try and find the right solution. But we must think about the whole Manchester United team. They're very strong.”
