Inter Milan have confirmed the appointment of former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte as their new manager.
The announcement was made early on Friday morning, with Conte drafted in to replace Luciano Spalletti, who was sacked earlier this week after two years at the helm.
The 49-year-old had been out of work since leaving Chelsea - with whom he won the Premier League and FA Cup - in July 2018.
"A new chapter in my life is beginning, I'm really excited," said Conte on Inter's official website.
"Through my work, I'll try to repay all of the trust that the president and directors have placed in me.
"I have chosen Inter because of the club it is, because of the project's sound basis and how ambitious it is. Because of Inter's history.
"I was struck by the club's transparency and the desire to bring Inter back to where it belongs."
Inter pipped rivals AC Milan to fourth spot and the final Champions League qualifying position in Serie A last term, but were eliminated from European football's elite club competition at the group stage.
"I'm sure that Antonio Conte is one of the best coaches out there," said Inter president Steven Zhang.
"I'm certain that he'll help us achieve our objective and fulfil our mission, one which has always remained the same: to make this club one of the best in the world again."
Conte previously won three consecutive Serie A titles with Juventus between 2011-14 and also led Italy to the quarter-finals of Euro 2016 in France.
He had been linked with both a return to Juventus and the managerial post at AS Roma.
Reports suggest that Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku and Chelsea winger Victor Moses - currently on loan at Fenerbahce - figure prominently on Conte's summer transfer wishlist at Inter.
