Antonio Conte has allayed fears over an injury to Thibaut Courtois, insisting the Chelsea goalkeeper is ready to face Atletico Madrid.

The 25-year-old appeared to injure himself during Saturday's 4-0 win at Stoke City, colliding with Gary Cahill and Peter Crouch when coming for a corner and landing on his head from a height.

The keeper was given the all-clear by the physio, though looked dazed in the final minutes, and Conte has confirmed his first-choice keeper would be fit for the Champions League tie.

"I spoke with our doctor about Thibaut, above all about whether I could make a different substitution and he said Thibaut was okay and you can make another substitution," Conte explained.

"Now he is okay and ready to play the next game against Atletico Madrid."

Alvaro Morata scored a hat-trick as Chelsea made easy work of the Potters and now face Atletico Madrid at the Spanish outfit's new stadium before welcoming Manchester City to Stamford Bridge.

"We deserved to win the game," Conte told Match of the Day. "We started well and scored early. We were in control of the game. I repeat it's not simple to win away against them.

"I think we have to be focused at what we do and not others. We want to fight in every competition we are playing."
