Standard Sport assesses the individual performances from Tottenham's 2-1 defeat to Anderlecht in the Europa League on Thursday night.

Hugo Lloris: 7

Made up for a nervous early moment with a string of fine saves but could do little about either goal.

Kieran Trippier: 6

The majority of Anderlecht's attacks came down his side and he struggled to contain them. Undone too easily for the second goal but still deserves to make his Premier League sooner rather than later.

Toby Alderweireld: 6

Guilty of poor defending for the first goal but once again proved that his range of passing is exquisite. However, he still has inconsistencies to iron out.

Jan Vertonghen: 6

The Belgian broke forward out of defence brilliantly at times yet also looked unsure of himself at set pieces when his colleagues needed him to take charge.

Ben Davies: 6

The Welshman bombed up the left wing at every opportunity but could not make a significant impact. Unlikely to have done enough to usurp Rose for the trip to Bournemouth.

Eric Dier: 7

A reliable presence in the centre of the park, Dier was involved in a couple of encouraging attacking interchanges but an ability to recognise when to support his central defenders was most impressive.

Mousa Dembele: 6

A relatively quiet night for the midfielder, who was solid in a central role. Sat deep but gave the ball away too often when he tried to feed the front men. Missed chance to build on his display against Liverpool.

Erik Lamela: 6

Although guilty of an early miss, Lamela grew into the game but then fizzled out in the second half. Could not be accused of a lack of effort but his inconsistency will frustrate the fans.

Christian Eriksen: 7

The Danish midfielder took his goal well with a cracking finish. Installed as the side's main creative force, his passing was crucial but he waned as the game wore on.

Andros Townsend: 5

Plenty of effort and full of running but little end product.

Clinton N'Jie: 6

Ran his heart out and drifted into dangerous pockets but rarely had a clear sight of goal.

Substitutes

Harry Kane: 6

Had half an hour to make his mark, but didn't. Missed the only clear-cut chance that fell to him.

Dele Alli: 6

Dazzled in possession but did not have long enough to make his presence felt in the final third.
