Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew has said his midfielder James McArthur should be embarrassed after diving to try and win a penalty at Stoke.

The Eagles continued their fine away form under Pardew with a 2-1 victory over Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium.

Palace were awarded a penalty in the first period as they came from behind to beat the Potters, but the visiting boss felt McArthur was guilty of simulation as his team sought to double their advantage after the break.

Pardew told Sky Sports he would not be speaking to the former Wigan man about the incident.

said. "He should be embarrassed. He's a great professional and that's unlike him.

"We keep moaning about diving but it grates on me. I was surprised but it shows what pressure does to players."

"I haven't spoken to him about it but I don't need to - he will see the replay and he will be embarrassed."
