Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew has criticised Manchester United’s players for their rough treatment of Yohan Cabaye in Saturday’s goalless draw at Selhurst Park.

Pardew believes that France international, who missed arguably the best chance of the match, was victim of ‘about eight fouls’ from the visitors, accusing Louis van Gaal’s side of trying to ‘put something on him’.

However, only one foul was awarded to Palace during the match following an incident involving Cabaye.

“I was a bit disappointed with the treatment he got,” said Pardew after the match. “Almost everyone was putting something on him, I thought it was a bit unfair.

“There were about eight fouls on him from different players, he was almost a target.”

Saturday’s point ended a run of three successive defeats in all competitions for Palace, following last Wednesday’s 5-1 defeat to Manchester City in the Capital One Cup.

Pardew’s side occupy eighth spot, with five wins from their opening 11 matches.
