AFC Wimbledon have climbed into the League One play-off places courtesy of a 1-0 victory over Peterborough this afternoon.

The Dons travelled to the ABAX Stadium in fine form and it did not take long for Neal Ardley's side to break the deadlock.

George Francomb, who was one of six changes to the starting line up, swung in a deep corner which was nodded back across goal by Jonathan Meades before being poked home by Tom Elliott.

The south Londoners should have extended their lead before the break but goalkeeper Luke McGee did well to tip another Elliott effort around the post.

Peterborough improved after the break but it came too late for Grant McCann's side as the Dons climbed to sixth place.

Wimbledon are now unbeaten in eight league games and have won three successive away games.

Next up is a home clash against high-flying Bradford, who are second, next weekend.
