Aaron Ramsey to wear the armband for Wales

Captain: Aaron Ramsey
11 April 2012

Aaron Ramsey was today named Wales captain just days after starting his first game in more than a year for Arsenal.

The midfielder was out for nine months after a red-card challenge by Stoke's Ryan Shawcross in February 2010 left him with a shocking double fracture of his left leg.

Ramsey went on loan to Nottingham Forest, where he made his return to action, and then to Cardiff before rejoining Arsene Wenger's first-team squad at Emirates Stadium.

He lasted 56 minutes at the heart of Arsenal's midfield against West Brom on Saturday.
