Football injury downs Garcia

Sergio Garcia paid the price for a football kick-about with Ernie Els today when he was forced to withdraw from the pro-am event at the Johnnie Walker Classic with a hamstring injury.

However, the Spaniard expects to be fit to tee-off in the tournament proper tomorrow. "It is a little sore, but I have had a session with the physio and we are just going to keep treating it from now until tomorrow," he said.

"We are guessing it was kicking the football that did it, but it never hurt at the time. I felt it later when I went to play a few holes."
