First of the mohicans

King of the comb-over: second place for Sir Bobby Charlton
14 April 2012

After sporting more than his fair share of dodgy barnets, David Beckham has come top of a poll of sport's most memorable hairstyles.

So which was it? The all-over skinhead? The ludicrous ponytail? No, it was Beckham's mohican that swung it for the England captain. Becks was a short head in front of fellow Manchester United legend Sir Bobby Charlton and his flap-in-the-wind comb-over.

Footballers dominates the list compiled by hairstyling brand Brylcreem: Keegan's poddle perm, Ronaldo's ridiculous semi-circle and tuft and David Seaman's 'forgotten youth' ponytail all make it into the top 10.

Yet, there's still room for those outside of the 'beautiful game'. Snooker's Paul Hunter's girly Alice band charts at number three, Andre Agassi's mullet is at five and Bjorn Borg's golden locks remain fresh in the memory at number 10.
