Fenerbahce closing on Anelka

The protracted transfer of Nicolas Anelka from Manchester City to Fenerbahce appears to be nearing a conclusion.

Reports from Turkey claim the Istanbul club have agreed a fee of £7million for the 25-year-old French striker, but City insist a deal has yet to be completed.

It is thought Anelka's advisors have had discussions with Fenerbahce aimed at establishing personal terms for the proposed move.

But it is known a few financial issues have yet to be resolved before Anelka, for whom City agreed to pay Paris Saint Germain £13million for in June 2002, officially joins the Turkish club.
