Fears for the future of Tests as Twenty20 gets £75m

At Lord's, billionaire Sir Allen Stanford will join forces with the England and Wales Cricket Board to announce a £10million challenge match this November between England and his Caribbean All Stars.

It is planned to be the first of five annual games and there are also moves for a four-nation tournament in England, which could be worth a total of £75m.

However, with the launch of a Twenty20 Champions League, there are major concerns for the future of Test and county cricket.

England Test captain Michael Vaughan said: "My fear is that Twenty20 will become the ultimate competition."
