Everton chief Kenwright insists all is well despite doubts over Moyes

Everton chairman Bill Kenwright has assured worried fans that the club are continuing efforts to sign players amid a flurry of bets on manager David Moyes quitting his job.

Ladbrokes yesterday suspended betting on Moyes as he plunged from 16-1 to 5-1 to leave after saying he was unhappy at the club's rate of progress this summer.

However, Kenwright said: 'While I fully understand the sense of frustration being felt by our supporters in the wake of what some perceive to be a moratorium with regard to the signing of new players, our attempts to complete the signings of players we believe will improve the quality of our firstteam squad continue on an hourly basis.

'We have had a budget for incoming transfers since the start of the summer - and that budget is in no way reliant or dependent upon either the proposed relocation of the club to Kirkby or the sale of current players.'

Moyes was in good spirits as he took training in Denver yesterday. The £13million sale of striker Andy Johnson to Fulham has yet to be completed despite assurances his old knee injury would not stall the deal.
