Evans rejoins Black Cats on loan

12 April 2012

Manchester United defender Jonny Evans was on Wearside on Friday morning to complete a loan move to Sunderland until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old Northern Ireland international has returned to the Black Caps where he spent the second half of the club's Coca-Cola Championship title campaign last season.

Manager Roy Keane said: "We agreed with United on Thursday for Jonny Evans to come up. He is here now and available for Saturday, so that's a start."

He added: "Jonny did very well for us last year. I spoke to him and am looking forward to seeing him."

Evans was arrested and bailed last month in connection with an alleged rape at Manchester United's Christmas Party.
