Greece pulled off arguably the biggest shock in football history when they beat host nation Portugal to be crowned Euro 2004 winners.

The Greeks had never won a game in a major championship before Euro 2004. They kicked off their quest for glory by beating the hosts on the opening day of the tournament — how fitting they should be crowned champions against the same side in the final.
