Eriksson on look-out for top club

12 April 2012

Sven-Goran Eriksson is determined to get back to the only thing he believes he does well - coaching football teams - and he already has his eyes on the cream of English clubs.

The former England coach regrets his inability to inspire this country to significant success in major championships but nonetheless describes his time in charge as "beautiful" - if a little short on luck.

"I need to get back into coaching," the 58-year-old Swede has told The Sun. "Arsenal? Liverpool? Manchester? They are all big clubs, but I don't have any ambitions for a particular side. Any of those would be good."

He added: "This is my world - it's the only thing in life I can do well."

As for his stint as England coach, he admits to mixed feelings.

"My time with England didn't have the support of Lady Luck," he said.

"But they were five-and-a-half beautiful years. It's a shame we didn't achieve better results - but I am still proud to have been the first foreigner on the England bench."
