Embarrassment for Trapattoni as Ireland draw with Portuguese minnows

Republic of Ireland boss Giovanni Trapattoni's first game in charge ended in embarrassment as an under-strength side drew 1-1 with Portuguese second division team Portimonense.

Andy Keogh scored the equaliser after Gonzalo's 15th-minute free-kick was deflected past Dean Kiely.

Trapattoni said: "There are some old habits that need tweaking. They will learn." Ireland are expected to rest Damien Duff for today's match against amateur side Lagos. .
