Edoardo Molinari masters the field

Edoardo Molinari birdied four of his first six holes today to take the lead in the Omega European Masters in Switzerland.

Two behind fellow Italian Matteo Manassero, 17, overnight, the Ryder Cup newcomer was the first of the pair back on the Crans-sur-Sierre course and added a 65 to his opening 66.

On 11 under par, Molinari finished one ahead of Finn Mikko Ilonen and two in front of England's Graeme Storm.

"I think I played very well," he said.
