Dyche in Watford setback

Watford are set to be without captain Sean Dyche when they play Wigan at Vicarage Road tonight.

The defender injured his hamstring in the 1-0 defeat against Reading on Saturday.

Dyche is likely to join long-term absentees Marcus Gayle and Paul Devlin on the sidelines as Watford face the free-scoring partnership of Jason Roberts and Nathan Ellington.

Ray Lewington knows he will miss the 33-year-old.

The manager said: "Senior players are a big factor for us. They have been excellent in the dressing room this season and they are all great talkers.

"Dyche has done his hamstring. If you lose a major influence it is going to affect you but one player's loss is another's chance to show me what he can do for the cause."

Lloyd Doyley replaced Dyche against Reading and the 21-year-old should get another chance to impress Lewington tonight.
