Duff faces shoulder scan

14 April 2012

Chelsea will send Damien Duff for a scan on his dislocated shoulder to determine the extent of the muscle damage.

The £17million Republic of Ireland winger was injured when he landed heavily after being challenged in the fifth minute of Saturday's 1-0 win over Fulham.

Chelsea doctor Neil Frazer put Duff 's shoulder back into place in the dressing room at Loftus Road, and then went with him to hospital where he was X-rayed.

There is no bone damage but until he is scanned the club will not know whether he will be out for just two weeks or up to six weeks. Coach Claudio Ranieri said: "It is a big blow over Christmas to lose Damien."
