Driving rage as Geordie golfers take aim at Manchester United stars

Figures of Manchester United footballers, including Cristiano Ronaldo, have been placed in the middle of the Parklands driving range in Newcastle for Geordie fans to aim at in the build-up to the forthcoming Premier League clash at St James' Park.

Meanwhile Obafemi Martins is desperate to play a part in Kevin Keegan's attempt to revive Newcastle.

The 23-year-old Nigerian striker has yet to play for the new manager after missing Keegan's first four games in charge because of Africa Cup of Nations duty and then an ankle injury. But he hopes to be fit for next Saturday's Premier League clash against Manchester United.

"We have a new manager and he will have changed a lot of things but it is not a problem for me to come back and focus on starting playing," Martins said. "He [Keegan] did a lot for newcastle and all the fans love him here. that's why they've brought him back.

"Now I and the other players are going to try to play for him and do our best just to make him proud."
