Dowie the revivalist

The Crystal Palace revival under Iain Dowie continued at Sheffield United with a 3-0 win - and it was a victory in which striker Andrew Johnson epitomised the new work ethic at the club.

'Andrew worked his socks off,' said Dowie. 'He doesn't know the meaning of a lost cause and he gets his reward for that.'

Johnson scored his 21st goal of the season, and further strikes from Tony Popovic and Neil Shipperley ensured the win.

Dowie added: 'We must not get ahead of ourselves. The play-offs are a long way off. The lads are doing a terrific job and getting their rewards but they have to keep it going.'
