Double title joy for Alldis

Michael Alldis became British and Commonwealth super-bantamweight champion last night by defeating Brian Carr on points.

The 33-year-old, fighting in front of his home town crowd in Crawley, regained his British title and won the Commonwealth crown from the Scottish fighter in the process.

Alldis started slowly but gained in strength to take his tally of wins to 23 from 31 fights with a 117-113 points decision.
